We are just a mere 5 days into the new year and we are sad to report the passing of Fiona Cumming who worked several times on Doctor Who perhaps more notably in the Peter Davison era.
Fiona first worked on Doctor Who in 1964 as an assistant floor manager on the Story The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve. After becoming a production assistant she worked on 1966's The Highlanders which saw the introduction of the Second Doctor's faithful companion Jamie and then 1972 Jon Pertwee story The Mutants.
After becoming a director she worked on shows like Z-Cars, The Omega Factor and Blakes 7. Upon returning to Doctor Who she directed Castrovalva, Snakedance, Enlightenment and Planet of Fire.
Fiona sadly passed away on New Years Day and we at the Doctor Who Bar, would like to send our thoughts to her family and friends at this time.
